Both of these runs are very unique because runners are bussed to the start in Stillwater, Minnesota and run back to the finish in Hudson, Wisconsin, where finish line festivities and food will be near the amphitheater at the park. This is a must race for your annual calendar. We had over 1,400 runners last year and are planning for almost 2,000 this year. All runners receive a technical shirt for participating!

For the past 3 years MN has swept the podium taking home the trophy. This year we are really going to amp up the rivalry by giving plenty of opportunities to know who you are racing out on course. MN and WI runner will both receive different custom bibs so you can easily identify who you need to beat to the finish.
The winning state is determined by the score of the finishing places of the top 5 from each given state.
Also the winning state's top 5 will receive a Final Stretch Duffel Bag to tote around their victory.
This year there will be a prize for best display of state pride from both Minnesota and Wisconsin. You can show your pride by wearing your state's sports team jerseys, college colors, or any other way you can think of to display your love for your state! The winners will receive a voucher for a jersey of their choosing!

There are many parking lots in the Lakefront Park area in Hudson, in addition to the bountiful street side parking. Registered runners can be dropped off or ride share to the ½ Marathon start line as there is plenty of parking available. However, there is no bussing back to the start. Runners can be dropped off at the 5K start point, but there is no parking for vehicles at this location. Directions and parking areas for Registration, Race Day packet pickup, and Finish line, as well as Start line are designated on the Directions/Parking link.
Bussing will be provided from the registration/finish line area in Hudson, WI to the start line area of each race. 1/2 marathon runners will board the busses at Lake Front Park between 6:30 am and 7:20 am. The final bus for 1/2 marathon runners will depart no later than 7:20 am! Several bathrooms and water are available at the start line areas. Unless you feel like taking a trip down memory lane and using the school busses we have provided for transportation, we would encourage all 1/2 marathon runners to seek rides to the start line area in Stillwater. The school busses provided for transportation are not as comfortable, or spacious, as you may remember from your youth. The start line area is located at Washington County Fairgrounds at 12300 40th St. N, Stillwater, MN 55082.
The busses depart for the 5K start line at 7:50 am. There are no bathrooms located at the start for the 5K run.
The race was started in 1997 and has continued to revel in the rivalry between the Minnesota Gophers and Wisconsin Badgers. This rivalry has a long history and we enjoy the competition this event has on race day. Over the past couple of years, Minnesota and Wisconsin have shared the glory of bringing home the prize of being the top runner.
Finisher medals will be given to the Half Marathon AND 5k finishers.
5K finishers will also receive a commemorative finisher medal!!
Awards will be given to the top 3 male and female runners in each age category: 19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
Top 3 overall male & Female finishers for 1/2 Marathon
Top overall male & female finishers for 5K
Award ceremonies will immediately follow the race near the start/finish line in the park. Must be present to win.
