When you register for the Unelash the SHE, you make a difference for the hundreds of Minnesota women and families impacted by ovarian cancer.
There is no test for ovarian cancer, the deadliest of all gynecologic cancers. This year alone, more than 400 Minnesota women will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer, which is all too often diagnosed at a late stage.
The Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance funds crucial research and provides support and resources for women all across Minnesota, including a chapter in the Rochester area. We encourage you to start a fundraising page to support MOCA even more. Visit MOCA's blog at http://blog.mnovarian.org/why-i-run-against-ovarian-cancer/.
Wondering why you should get involved? Two MOCA supporters will tell you why:
Amy Knutson, Daughter of Ovarian Cancer Survivor
“I run in the Spring Fling Diva Dash for my mom, an ovarian cancer survivor. By taking part in the race, I can raise money for the Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance and also show support for my mom – and all the survivors, friends and family members impacted by this disease.”
Dr. Brigitte Barrette, Mayo Oncologist
“I wish to lead by example for my patients. So I run in the annual Spring Fling Diva Dash… it keeps me focused and it challenges me. To me, there is no better way to tell my patients that I care about them – and, to me, one of the best ways to help them is to raise money for research.”
Find out more about MOCA by going to www.mnovarian.org or through the MOCA Facebook page at: http://www.facebook.com/mnovarian.
Five dollars of each registration fee will go to MOCA. Participants are encouraged to create their own fundraising pages to raise money all of which goes directly to MOCA for ovarian cancer research, support and programming.
