Race Information
Located just 20 miles west of downtown Minneapolis, the Baker Park Reserve and Lake Independence provide a beautiful backdrop for a great day of racing and spectating.

Whether you are a newbie looking to step it up to a longer distance event or a seasoned triathlete looking for an early season half to prime you for an upcoming Ironman, the Liberty Tri is for you! Both of our courses are USAT sanctioned and are sure to provide you with a safe, fun, and challenging race.

Whether you're coming for the race and staying for the fun, or the other way around, the Liberty Triathlon is a great race at a spectacular venue. More than just a race, the Liberty Triathlon and Baker Park offers triathletes and their families more than just two great races. Bring the entire family out and spend the weekend camping at one of Baker Parks campgrounds, or enjoy fishing, boating, hiking, biking, paddle boating, canoeing, golfing, and more.

Following the races we will again have a BBQ along with other refreshments provided by Final Stretch, Inc..

The Liberty Triathlon is limited to 525 total entries.

Parking

There is plenty of parking in the Baker Park Reserve.  When you enter the Park, take a right.  Follow signs and volunteers to park your vehicle.  Directions and parking areas are designated on the Directions/Parking link.

 

 
 

Course Information
Both the Liberty Triathlon Olympic and Long Course distance events are USAT Sanctioned Events. All USAT rules and regulations will be enforced. The bike course will be both marshalled and policed, but the roads will remain open to local car traffic during the event. All cyclists must observe all Minnesota Traffic Laws and wear a certified snell or ansi hard-shelled helmet while on the bike at all times.  The Long Course (1/2 Ironman) is a 1.2 mile Swim, 56 mile Bike, and a 13.1 mile Run.  The Olympic Course is a 1.5K Swim, 40K Bike, and a 10K Run.  To see more specific information about these courses, click here.

The race will be timed by Final Time using ChampionChip Timing Technology. The Long Course distance will be a part of the Tri Minnesota Series.

Awards will go to the top three finishers, male and female, in each age group/category for both Long and Olympic distances as follows:
19 & under, 20 - 24, 25 - 29, 30 - 34, 35 - 39, 40 - 44, 44 – 49, 50 - 54, 55 - 59, 60 - 64, 65 - 69, 70 - 74, 75 - 79, 80 - 84, 85+

Clydesdales/Athena Awards for Top 3 Overall Finishers
Relay Team Awards for Top 3 Overall Team (Long and Olympic)
All participants will receive a 2010 Liberty Tri T-Shirt, race packet goodies, and are eligible for our prize giveaways (must be present to win).
